Workshop: Canvas - Level 1 Canvas First Steps

Objective:
Utilize Canvas to add content. Utilize Canvas to communicate with students. Create placeholders in the gradebook for assignments. Upload syllabus and course schedule. Add non-students to Canvas. Publish the course. Discuss accessibility.

Description:
This 60 minute Canvas training is geared toward Instructors who are teaching face-to-face. This training is designed to provide you with the basic skills to utilize the Canvas Learning Management System. You will be able to navigate Canvas, set-up your syllabus, add a course schedule, organize content, communicate with students, manage assignments, and publish your course. Please note that the gradebook is reviewed, but presented in greater depth in Level 2, Off and Running With Canvas. Additional tasks will include adding non-students to your course, making sure your syllabus, course materials are accessible, and where to go for additional help with Canvas. Bring your laptop with your electronic versions of the documents you want to add to Canvas!
